about

One of Denmark's biggest rock bands in recent times, The Floor Is Made Of Lava, is now reissuing the successful album "Kids & Drunks" from 2012, which has long been sold out. The album will be released in a new, deluxe vinyl edition.

Lead singer and songwriter Tobias Kippenberger states:

“On the one hand, Kids & Drunks was our artistic climax, with playful instrumentation and some of our best songs. But the record also ended up being our collapse as a group. And although I don't remember the time as particularly dramatic, there are probably some unsaid things simmering, also in the music. For me personally, the record was a natural culmination of 6 intense years, and I can't imagine a better way to go out"

The Floor is Made Of Lava were active from 2006-2013 and managed to release 3 albums: All Juice, No Fruit (2007), Howl At The Moon (2010) and Kids & Drunks (2012). The band managed to play at the Roskilde Festival and in Tivoli, as well as opening for world names such as AC/DC and Oasis. The band also had a large number of radio hits - e.g. a whole 3 x Unavoidables of the Week on P3 – back when they still dared to play rock! The Floor is Made Of Lava were also responsible for bringing Record Store Day to Denmark with their EP "Record Store Day EP" back in 2011. With the success came nominations for, among others, the GAFFA award 2010, P3 Gold and Zulu Awards, where they ended up winning the New Name of the Year award. In May 2020, the band re-released the 2010 album "Howl At The Moon", which went straight to first place on the vinyl chart, followed by the live album "Live At The Moon" in a nice 2nd place in the same week. The “Howl At The Moon” vinyls sold out quickly!
